This is an incomplete walkthrough of Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. Once complete, it will also have a guide of things you can do once you beat the game, as all other Team Magma Haven walkthroughs.

Pokemon HQ Lab

The game starts out with you using a Salamence to defeat someone's Metagross. Once the battle is over, you find yourself in the Pokemon HQ Lab. Head left and you will meet your mother, Lily. She tells you that your sister Jovi is missing. Professor Krane, your mother's boss, is also in there and he will tell you to go to your room to get your PDA. Go a little bit more left to see Jovi's friend hiding. He said he was playing hide-and-seek with her and she went somewhere. Also to the left of the room with Lily is your room, so go there and get your PDA. Find Professor Krane and he will tell you to go talk to him again. So, go back to talk to him and he will tell you to go to Kaminko's house to look for her.

Kaminko's House

Go there and you will meet his assistant, Chobin. Battle him (he has a Sunkern) and then go talk to Kaminko and Jovi inside. Kaminko will give you some parts to give to Professor Krane.

Pokemon HQ Lab

Jovi will take you back to the house and you will meet Lily again. Go give the parts to Professor Krane and he will give you a machine that he just finished called the Snag Machine to use to Snag Shadow Pokemon and some PokeBalls to use for it. It also has an Aura Reader to tell you if a Pokemon is a Shadow Pokemon. Some men come in and grab Professor Krane. Follow them outside and Snag their Teddiursa. Don't worry about weakening it first. The guys throw Professor Krane in the back of their trunk and take off. Go back inside and the lab workers will talk a little about being able to complete the Purification Chamber without Professor Krane. Go into the room where they are making it and Lily will tell you to go get some parts from Gateon Port, so go outside. A guy will give you Krane Memos 1 and 2 to read. Go to Gateon Port.

Gateon Port

Lily walks a little bit and meets this dude guy named Zook who challenges her with his Shadow Zangoose. This old man named Mr. Verich stops him and one of the two men next to him named Ardos challenges Zook to a battle. His Alkazam knocks out Zook's Zangoose easily and the three walk off. Go to The Krabby Club and battle the guy in charge, Navigator Berk. He has a Lotad and a Wingull, and with Eevee's Bite and Teddiursa's amazing Skadow Blitz and (not so amazing) Shadow Mist, you ought to be able to take him down quickly. Now just keep going left. If you talk to people, you'll learn that that Mr. Verich guy you saw earlier is pretty wealthy. You will meet Jovi's friend Emili and her mother Acri, who will talk to you for a little while. Go into the shop (not the one next to the Pokemon Center, the one next to the cruise ship) and find out that the shopkeeper went somewhere. Go down to the house below it and some guy will ask if he can tell you something. He will give you five items to evolve your Eevee. Take it and give it to your Eevee and it will evolve unless you gave it the Moon Shard or the Sun Shard, in which case it will have to be happy first. You also learn that the place that the shopkeeper went was Kaminko's house, so go there.

Kaminko's House

Chobin wants to battle you again. This time he also has a Magikarp. Beat him and then go in. Talk to the shopkeeper standing by Kaminko's desk, and he will say to talk to his grandson Perr trying to get the bridge working. Go to Gateon Port.

Gateon Port

Go by the bridge operating system and Perr will greet you. He tells you that he will get you the parts and to follow him. First, go on the moving bridge and use it to get to a few places you can't get to without it. One of these places has a trainer named Bodybuilder Kilen with a level 6 Zubat and a level 10 Shadow Poochyena. Use Shadow Blitz on Zubat and tell your Eeveelution to use Tackle on the Poochyena. The Zubat should be gone, so next turn call Teddiursa (it'll help him to be Purified) and use Tackle again on the Poochyena. Next turn capture it. You will also find three PokeBalls and a potion here. In another area you will finbd a trailer with a level 6 Taillow and a level 10 Shadow Ledyba. Use the same strategy. The other two areas just have people who will talk to you. Now go to the Part Shop and get the Machine Part from Perr. Return to the Pokemon HQ Lab.

Pokemon HQ Lab

The guy will give you Krane Memos 3-5 before you go in. Give the Part to your mother and she will tell you to go to Agate Village and talk to Eagun who will show you to Relic Cave which you can use to Purify Pokemon until the Purify Chamber is complete. So head down to Agate Village.

Agate Village

As soon as you get in, you'll find a PokeBall. Now if you're PDA beeps and says that any of your Shadow Pokemon can be Purified, then quit battling with it and start using a different Shadow Pokemon. Eventually you will meet a girl named Cooltrainer Cida who has an Azurill, an Igglybuff, and a Togepi, all at Level Seven. It'll be good experience for your Eeveelution and good Purification for your Shadow Pokemon. Have your Eeveelution keep using Bite and your Shadow Pokemon keep using Shadow Blitz. If you are still on Teddiursa, use Metal Claw too. Now go in Eagun's house and talk to his wife, Beluh. Eagun will come in and ask you to follow him off to Relic Cave. Explore the town a little more, you may find three potins, an Ether, and some old man will give you a Cheri Berry. Go in the Relic Cave and there will be a guyin front cheering you on. Go in and some boy will battle you with his Level 8 Zigzagoon and Numel to help you to Purify your Pokemon.
